Hi Guys,

I'm considering buying a Zoom G1 or G2 (or whatever else you might recommend) for 2 reasons.
1 - It's pretty small
2 - It takes batteries so i can drag it and the guitar out with some headphones and get right to it without added power requirements/cables.
(got stacks of rechargeable AA's so the battery thing isn't an issue, actually a positive for me)

My question is, how do you get the shaped insert of the guitar case out of the plastic moulding?
Is it glued in?

Has any one attempted hacking up their perfectly good case?
(I've googled a bit and can't find any examples???)

I'll attach some pics of the current look, and another MS Paint job showing what I want.

Any ideas/suggestions/experience appreciated.

I don't think you'll be able to achieve that look if you do it, it will be a hole backed into the case and sort of ruin it.

I gave up trying to find someone to do case mods in Australia. We would probably have better luck in L.A. or New York.

The unit can't fit in the original compartment?

I might be in the market for a case soon, in case you're thinking of selling......

The original hole looks quite large in the pics but that's just the lid.
When you lift it up, it's pretty small.
I measured up, won't fit
...unless there's a smaller unit that does a similar job.

I gave up on the iRig idea too.

I have those cases so I can did the size of the compartment.

What about the old Korg Pandora's? I have the first, which I should have kept, and sold it for the second version, but I don't know what happened after that.

Surely there is something better than the Pandora these days. Those things were small.

I saw the Mini.
Looks nice.
Trying to spend around $50 though
