Sydney Storms

Post by shramiac »

The greater Sydney area was hit with a huge storm cell yesterday and another is due tonight! Yesterday wind speeds hit Cat 2 cyclone conditions (hey now you know what I go through! :P :( ) and the iconic Bondi Beach had tonnes of sand dumped from the beach and up onto the surrounding paths and roadways!

A house even got washed away and so far 3 people have drowned. :(

So hoping Dannii, birnie and any other VVFF members from the area are safe & will escape with little or no damage!

Best wishes.
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

I'm all good.
Very windy/rainy, the worst I've seen since living here.
There were wires across the road in my street so wifey couldn't get out.
Alot of trees down but nothing hit us except for minor branches which we cleaned up today
Next door had a medium tree down and the next over again had a huge one down in the back yard down smashing his back fence.
I haven't personally seen any house damage around.

Gosford watrfront looks like a bomb hit it though!

Thanks for the thoughts Andrew :)

I was about to say, I'm on the northern coast of Spain, our weather is reminiscent of what you can find in Seattle, the UK, etc. We have plenty of wind storms throughout the year, and I couldn't imagine how the bridge could accumulate that much water!

Cantabria is the province where I live, the capital is Santander. La Coruña is roughly 4 hours away, the Gallegos and Basques get all the press on the northern coast, you'd think others don't even exist! Also, there is a tendency in South America, to call Spaniards Gallegos because historically more Gallegos have emigrated to other countries. With this said, Galicia probably has worse weather than we do since they're right on the corner and are hit from the north and west.
