Wow! This guy is fantastic, though he still won't get me to want to listen to Supertramp!
He has that cheap Mexican Strat set up soooooo well. Check out his playing in other vids, awesome player.

Tasty player. He doesn't even mention lubing the nut or anything like that.

I'd like to see Eric Johnson play a $300 guitar.

I'll stick with my Foyds though.

I like his Beck style.
There always something to learn on those videos : more tension on the lower strings'spring for example.

I understood how to set a Floyd Rose with the following video. I know it's in french, but you can understand with your eyes... This Nono seems to have a lot of interesting videos. Nice spider-Ibanez too.

I agree that Carl is a great player and teacher! The technique that he describes is valid but easier said than done. July 2011 at the Voodoo Lounge in Riverside California

He can play for sure.. but his setup tip is a complete waste of time, angling the spring post does very little if nothing to reduce 103lbs of tension over three inches with the front attached with 5 screws. Plus the string needs X lbs amount of tension to reach any given pitch changing the length of the spring will not change that, only the fulcrum point will move, But then again some one paid him to say that so bully for him.

Thanks for that, I won't waste my time setting those springs differently...

met him once, nice guy, very in demand session player.
About his setup, like my luthier pointed out,the e a d strings are wound but the section is thin and the g b e strings have much more tension, so setting the trem the way he suggests doesn't make much sense
