Yes, you heard correctly â€“ FINALLY a film about our beloved guitar legend is being made.

'Perpetual Burn: The Story of Jason Becker' is a feature length documentary film and will include interviews with Jason, his family and friends, and many of the amazing musicians heâ€™s worked with over the years. There will be plenty of great Jason Becker performance footage from Cacophony through to his solo work, as well as tons of unseen footage and unreleased music from the Becker archives.

For anyone expecting to see a sad film about Jason, this ainâ€™t it. Yes, this film will document Jasonâ€™s struggles with ALS and will aim to create awareness of the disease and its effects on thousands of people. But it is ultimately about his life as a brilliant musician and the way he is able to inspire millions of people throughout the world with his music, his mind, and his spirit.

I was a fan at the start. i still have letters he hand wrote to me in 1987 and 1988 (i think 4) . He was such a nice guy. Also Friedman replied to letters in 87,88 and i think even 89, he was also so nice.

He was verging on becoming a true musical vituoso when the ALS really hit. His demos show how he was writing some complex shit! The Serrana appegios are beautiful. And the DLR album is fantastic. "It's showtime" is still one of my all time favourite solos and when you read how sick he was getting just makes that album even more amazing. Having lived with a mother who had a similar disease in Multiple Sclorosis, I'm amazed at his strength for life. Teaches you to never take things for granted.

there were some great solos with DLR. He was a real genius.

I remember his live solo where he come out and blazed with his left hand and played with a yo yo with his right hand. Unbelievable to watch!
