Has Anybody ever heard of the album KISS My Ass?

Post by KissMyAss »

I took my username from the KISS album

I had no idea it had THAT meaning. But obviously other people did, which is gross.

Wait, I thought they named it after you?

Anyway, I have it on vinyl... never really cared much for it. Stevie Wonder on Deuce was pretty cool. On a side note, I was always convinced that Gene used my idea as far as the makeup the kid is wearing (in place of Ace's makeup). I did caricatures back in '92 of the current lineup in makeup (Singer the "Hawk" and Bruce the "Sorcerer") and the makeup I drew for Bruce was exact (gold diamonds around the eyes). I gave it to Bruce and remember Gene muttering "interesting" when he saw my drawing...

THAT meaning? What meaning are you talking about? I must be missing something. Yeah like PW I will say I don't care for the album too much...but I will say that when it came out I was totally stoked by it...it just hasn't aged well...now to me it sounds like what it most likely was...A desperate attempt to remain relevant. The only song I like now is Dinosaur Jr.'s version of Goin' Blind everything else tries too hard.

And PW...damn man...that's just...well that sounds totally like Gene...what a fucker!

There are a lot of other KISS tribute albums that are much better listens. I can't put my finger on what is wrong with Kiss My Ass...but it's just kinda boring.

Listened to it. Thought it was crap. Never bought it! Dino Jr version if I remember was good.

Not sure what KMA means either? I always thought it meant "You don't like KISS? Well you can KMA!"
Maybe it's, KISS? My Ass!!! (which wouldn't make sense)

I dunno?

Let me place your finger back on it. The reason the album is boring is because G & P were in charge of putting together a tribute to themselves.

Yes, But still boring. I would've loved to hear the bands that didn't make it on the album.

I remember Nine Inch Nails was supposed to do Love Gun and Pantera was recording Larger Than Life... would love to hear those.

Not necessarily a "KISS" tribute album, but close...and my personal fave of the about 20 or so that I have purchased over the years. (But I will admit that everyone has differing tastes.)
