Ah....and another year passes!
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

Yes :(

I just heard something about a box set? Is this maybe instead of the anniversary releases of the albums?

18-Mar-11Ozzy Osbourne's Landmark "Blizzard" And "Diary" Albums To Be Reissued In May
Submitted by: Dana

On May 31st, Ozzy Osbourne's will reissue the two albums which form the cornerstone of his career as a solo artist: "Blizzard of Ozz" and "Diary of a Madman" (Epic Records/Legacy Recordings).

Long revered by rock fans around the world, these two albums created a template for hard rock in the 1980's and beyond as they were marked by the ground-breaking and historic union of Ozzy and the late guitar hero Randy Rhoads. These definitive versions of 1980's "Blizzard of Ozz" (with previously unreleased bonus tracks) and 1981's "Diary of a Madman" are available individually on vinyl or CD, or together in a deluxe collector's box. All versions were restored and remastered from the original analog sources by George Marino.

The 30th-anniversary edition of the "Blizzard of Ozz" CD includes the original album in its entirety, restored and remastered while the new legacy edition of "Diary of a Madman" includes the original album in its entirety restored and remastered with a bonus second CD of previously unreleased live performances featuring Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhoads with rhythm section Rudy Sarzo (bass) and Tommy Aldridge (drums). A single-disc version of the remastered "Diary of a Madman" will also be available.

For serious fans and collectors, the limited edition 30th-anniversary deluxe boxed set houses the restored and remastered vinyl and CD editions of "Blizzard of Ozz" and "Diary of a Madman," the "Ozzy Live" compact disc. DVD — contains "Thirty Years After The Blizzard" documentary — and additional rare and unreleased performances and interviews.

Bob Daisley, who played bass on the first two solo albums by Ozzy Osbourne, said in a 2010 interview with his web site that he has not been contacted about the 30th-anniversary editions of those records. The tracks played by Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake on both albums — 1980's "Blizzard Of Ozz" and 1981's "Diary Of A Madman" — were replaced on a previous reissue after Daisley and Kerslake sued Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne over royalties.

Daisley told the web site, "Neither Lee nor I have been contacted, considered or consulted in the decision to re-release the original recordings. I haven't a clue as to what the 'bonus material' might be. As for royalties, we have not been approached for a reconciliation and have been offered and promised nothing."

Ozzy told The Pulse of Radio he was against the idea of replacing the original tracks when he found out about it. "Believe me, it wasn't my doing," he said. "I mean, I didn't know that was being done, 'cause Sharon was fighting all the legal things that were going down at the time. I said, 'What did you do that for?' And she said, 'The only way I could stop everything was if it went to that level.' And I said, 'You know what, whatever the circumstances were, I want the original thing back.' I mean, I wouldn't have done that."

The replacement tracks were played by current Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo and Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin.

Daisley says that he and Kerslake were fired because of disagreements with Sharon over a number of things, including refusing to do two shows in one day out of worry that Ozzy would blow out his voice.

I'd believe EVERYTHING that Bob says! And not just because he's a fellow Aussie! This was supposed to come out nealy a year ago! There is also the footage of a show (complete show I think) but without sound that was recorded by 2 brothers back in the day but they won't release it???!!! Hope they've transferred it to a more stable format by now!!!!! I'd guess there would be a bootleg audio of this gig that they could pair up! But such is life!

I'm behind on all things Randy. His fam I do believe did manage to get a settlement from the Osbournes.

2 one thing you hear about is when Ozzy found out Randy wanted to quit he hit him in the face. I believe Bob told that story. I forget if that was around the time of RR's last live performances.

I met a guy in Mtown (memphis) that hung out with Randy when he visited the guitar store, called Strings N Things. (used to be a killer shop that got lots of 1 off custom Gibsons) The store was on Union then which is a bad area now. (all areas are bad in Memphis, dangerous place if your not familiar with it, and even if you are.) The store dipped out a few yrs back, but still exist, then a Guitar Center opened, and killed their buisness.
