shit.. i have to include guys who may not be technical but i like the sound they make or they influenced me in some way. In no order.. I missed out all the jazz guys i love and Yngwie , Lynch , Beech and Vai as I love those guys but I don't really listen to them.. Mick Mars is one of my favourites because of many things.. i know he's no shredder.. i am also not a big crue fan either.

Metal..

VV
Marty Friedman (was a fan long before he was famous)
Jason Becker
Mick Mars
Jake E Lee
Richie Blackmore
Richie Kotzen
Vivian Campbell (whitesnake stuff was great).
Paul Gilbert
Vinnie Moore (saw him with Alice Cooper and his solo was the best i ever witnessed live.. he wouldn't have made it but that solo was so so good).

Also like Nuno and Frehley, Bob Kulick and Kane Roberts..

Dino, do you have the "Hawaii" stuff that Friedman did before Cacophony??? I think the band was called Hawaii!? And as for Viv Campbell, do you mean he was great live with Whitesnake as the only recording he did with Whitesnake was the solo on the single version of "Give me all your loving Tonight"!!! I loved the Dio stuff he did when I was growing up. And I forgot about Blackmore with Rainbow! Good to have an older bro to indoctrinate me to the "older" pre-shredders! Only good thing about older brothers though!!! :P :P :P

All of it played by John Sykes! Then Coverdale booted him! I did like Viv's solo on the single version though! Nice whammy work!

1987 does kick ass! Though some of the lyrics (hmmm maybe 90% LOL) are pretty lame and cheesey!

I actually struggled to get to 10
I love guitar and a few gutarists but I don't follow evey dude under the sun.
But I really like Angus for sticking to what he;s good at, and he is good at it.
He;s def not a shredder but then again, he aint pretending to be.
And seriously, there's hard;y anyone in the world who's got a better stage act than he does.
He cracks me up!
besides...if Paul Gilbert is gunna get on stage dressed up as Angus....dressed up as a school kid, he must have some street cred

Right on brother! I like his hand vibrato especially on the song Back in Black. Some guys lists look like Mick Mars, Ace Frehley, Keith Richards, Billy Squier etc which may be cool dudes but not the greatest guitarists but consistent with their talent level. Your list had 9 amazing guys and Angus. I apologize in that Angus is likely an Icon in Australia.

Yes Kevin...we are cool, we are the Breeze... Also like the guys in Queensryche, Crimson Glory, Jason Becker, Michael Sweet, Ronni Le Tekrø, RR, Tony Macalpine (maximum security,,,one of the best instrumental albums with George Lynch on it too) & Bernd Steidl...Rick, yer I like Chris Holmes...I suppose for a guy who is wasted a lot of the time, he is a really great player...Never followed him after WASP...Did he do anything right after WASP or is it that he has popped up just recently. Also does anyone know why Piper & Holmes left(kickout?) of WASP?

Eddie Van Halen
Tony Iommi
Jimmy Page
Randy Rhoads
Alex Lifeson
Vito Bratta

It's difficult to come up with such a list as it is subjective, but I would like to honorably mention John Frusciante and Jimi Hendrix
