Re: Vinnie's expectations

Those photos were shot by the Vin-man his-self and emailed to me so I could see the detail areas on the guitar and the general construction methods. Once I had the basic layout drawn up I was able to do a pretty good job of building the copies as close as possible to the originals. On the Carvin mod...

Re: AZG/ Pear Guitars

Several things could apply here . . . . The fret board may be rosewood. The lighting may be brighter on that one on Ebony because I photographed them all on a stand in my backyard outside my shop under a warm December sun. It also can be that when I Photoshopped that picture I was driving for best s...

Re: AZG/VV Contracts

Vinnie had one of his lawyers "SUGGEST" that I needed to have the guitars sent to V so he could create a "VIDEO" of himself playing, and in a sense "AUTHENTICATING" them. The lawyer also said in a stern manner that "IF I DIDN'T" send them that I would be "INTERFERING" with V's "BUSINESS". Was that a...

Re: The ORIGINAL Pear VVV 1992

Birnie: The addition of the mini shadow fin on the headstock makes it 3.

Shramiac: You're correct on that one. I didn't know they were beveled on the back so I only did it on the front.
He never said a word about it either.

Re: AZG/ Pear Guitars

Reply to 1031: Yes I painted them all myself. Been doing that stuff for 30 years. Guess I've got figured out by now but, you know, it's kind of weird sometimes. If you're not careful it can bite you in the ass. I've had to redo a few jobs before. Shramiac: Yes you're correct 2 & 5/8 is too large for...

Re: AZG/VV Contracts

I don't believe the contracts would still be in play not to mention the fact that I reject them completely now.

Re: AZG/ Pear Guitars

You got it GB. Although I don't know whether Carvin did that or he did. He did tell me that the Carvin was/is his favorite as it had a 24 3/4" scale with 2 & 5/8" nut. I think he had small hands and that set up worked better for him. Thats also the setup he had me do on the 92 PEAR. And thanks Doubl...

Re: Sketches of AZG VVV

That Blue Print is for the PEAR 92 TRIPLE - V which is in the photo. That was a streamlined version of the Jackson / Vinnie design and I contributed the third headstock V as a surprise for Vinnie which also ended up being included on the 2011 guitars. At the time Vinnie also included me & PEAR Guita...

Re: Vinnie's expectations

In 2010-2011 I never once met with Vinnie except on the phone and computer. I did a lot of layout work in my 2D CAD program and just sent drawings back and forth. He did provide photos of the Jackson Silver / Purple from which I extrapolated a lot of info about the guitar plus he sent me an outline ...

Re: AZG/VV Contracts

I prefer not to show the actual contracts as they were pretty one sided in Vinnie's favor. I had worked before in my other business which serviced Silicon Valley in California on some rather tenuous contracts but never had a problem with anyone before. Having previously built a PEAR guitar for VV in...

Re: AZG/ Pear Guitars

I plan to get into this topic with a ton of photos etc, and I'm starting with the photo of the 4 mid-build VV guitars. In fact this is it, below. I'm also reposting here today the 4 VV Guitars 2011 NAMM catalog photos just so the readers can see some of my most recent work. As for these particular d...

Re: Palecki's Inventions and Patents

I've got quite a bit of stuff for this area but I need to go back in my files to find copies of the patents I'm named on. The best one I can start with which relates to guitar playing is the Turbotune Guitar and Bass String Winder. Up date on that: My partner and I have signed a license agreement wi...
