Yeah, well I get what you are saying, but even IF somebody was to help out ( for a percentage or summat) with the getting stuff out, I think even those people/company would realize there´s such little chance of seeing any kind of financial benefit in todays world... some 10 years back it might have ...

Always loved Simmons´s Bass playing style, and his tone is cool too on this one!
Supposedly (acc to the man himself) his bass-playing is in the "Motown style": Four Tops, Temptations etc,
and naturally, McCartney. He´s also perfectly on the beat which creates a snappier feel I think.

yep, sped up a "half tone" E sounds like Esharp, but yes, I don´t think they ever played
the songs as fast again as with V (82-84). slowest and sluggiest I ever heard it was in 1996.

I´m with pinkWiz and who ever else, It´s Vinnie on Danger alright. He has that "ascending lick" or climb up the scale that is totally his invention sorta... You can here similar things in Fits Like and in his Solo spot during that tour. Sounds like Dorian with a few chromaticisms thrown in.... Cool ...

I´m with Birnie, "if you´re not doing it,.... you don´t have it" (Jat Leno quote about still being a stand up comic) I think V can play, but nowhere near what was going on in the 80ties. I woudnt sound THAT impressive... But, lottsa practice, sure, it´s start to improve and eventually impress again....

Good points there too shramiac. Sure, Vinnie knows his "shit" just like so many other (rock)fusion players do. It´s just really hard to pull those chord voices thru with massive distortion and stuff.....It just turns to mush. Then if you do play clean and let the chords ring clean, it´s no longer Ha...

I love it for the weirdness of it all. The basic idea seems to be: as long as the harmonic structure is really static, like ( E5 and/or D5 and no 3ds etc etc..) you can color with whatever notes, harmonic structure you like and let the lead be the color of the chord, as opposed to the other way arou...

A book. The Semi-famous Gibson Les Paul Book: "The beaty of the burst". Everything you ever wanted to know about the legendary 1958-60 LP Sunbursts. I love that "nerdy" stuff. yes, the "Yankee Doodle Dixie" part abvoiusly comes from an old Chet record. Chet used his Gretches for the most part but Vinnie´s using a very "Trebly" Nylon/ Classical type guitar I think.
