Vinnie today is a lost cause. The talk at Atlanta was just that, talk. The new music is more talk, the release always being pushed forward, extended, it's just not funny anymore.

The long and short of LIU, is that, as great as the album is, it was the unmasking that saved KISS. Another make-up album would have tanked them into the ground, and they knew it. KISS or no KISS, Vinnie had quite the opportunities and he squandered them all to fade into oblivian. KISS were slowly headed there sure enough, leading to the reunion having to happen to save their career, but Vinnie dived into the black hole of musical nothingness, he didn't slowly walk in.

No matter what they do, those Avatars are not going to get any better. Gene with wings and flying, Tommy looks stupid, they all look stupid. If they were just more real to life instead of fantasy comic bullshit it MIGHT be better. Or it still might be crap.

Until it was over and you knew there was nothing else, there was always hope that something special would happen. Seeing the Avatars first was not quite what I was expecting. They should have paid the money for the other members to be there.

You're right Dino, Vinnie thinks the first album is a masterpiece. I can't imagine what he's thinking by adding it to his re-recording schedule. It won't be anywhere near as good.

Sorry man, just not something I want to hear. The bar is set very high on those albums, on all fronts. I could handle a pro cover, like Mike Weeks did on that tribute album, and I guess most of the others on there. This just held no interest for me.
