Re: Live auction weekend pics and video
Vinnie looks great and very happy. I hope they sold alot of merchandise. Yes. I concur. Looks like the "metal rivot" Rhoads is not one of the cheap Indonesian bolt-ons but one of the neck-through Mexican made X series. The inlays look pink to match the pink bevels. Guessing it's a decal on the body...

There is a point where you need to stop and say, "that'll do!" You just can't redoing songs over and over especially in the studio. It's too damn expensive. Even Yngwie and Satriani have clicks and muffed notes on their albums. On VVI there is an obvious punch-in at the end of one of the solos (I wo...

Re: Message from Vinnie to the VVFF!!
Three Sides always hated Vinnie, then sucked up to him in Atlanta. Decibel Geek only "back stabbed" Vinnie after he falsely accused them of intentionally putting "tupperware level fan" (something in that vein) on their profile on the KISSFAQ website. Even after Julien, who runs that board, said it w...

Creatures for the win. Sonically a bigger. more aggressive sounding album than LIU. Songs are on a par with both, though Dance and 8th day are weak album enders. Not a fan of the rap in All Hell's (and neither was Eric so, poo to you with knobs on :P) and LIU itself is boring...but so is Love it Lou...

Pretty cool. Nice that he had Sails of Charon there too. Uli Roth being Yngwie looooong before Yngwie! Not that I've listened to much of The Scorpions but to me, it's obvious Roth burned Michael Schenker's ass as a player. No comparison. Red face with a silver logo on the headstock would look better.
Tuko, there are actually TWO silver/black VVVs that were built at the same time, in 1997. One of them, the owner took the EMG out and fitted a Duncan.
Kev, your descriptions of what Vic and Dino would want are spot on!

Gunge (yeah I know how I spelt it!) would have swallowed him up sadly. So many "pretty boy" bands just faded away. Even Skid Row who'd just put out the awesome and heavy, Slave to the Grind. So much energy on that album.

His work on I've Had Enough is perfect for the song. And I don't buy the "Mark couldn't play the same thing twice" schtick from Paul. If you listen to the demos from Animalize, the solos are very similar to what ended up on the album. Mark was a Holdsworth fan and you don't get to that kind of playi...

The Slaughter debut was much weaker, albiet it was a fun album, and it was quite successful in real terms, in the early days at least. Albums afterwards didn't cement their success, plus the whole grunge thing. GOD I hated that album...even with THAT cover. :P Sold it to a mate after one listen.

We have to remember that MJJ was still an employed contractor for Gene & Paul. How many times did they override any of MJJ's choices? Eric could stay in tune better than Peter, that's for sure.
The sad thing for me about Eric is that he could have answered the ad back in 1973 (he was older than Paul) and been KISS' drummer the whole time. He would have been a better team player and a much better drummer as well.
