vinnie could have just been 'in your face, forever' and be a bigger legend than he is now.

at least he has that 1 vvi album, and the 2nd album is in similar territory... plus, the demos/ep... not to mention lick it up, etc.

but that first 'invasion' album was the pinnacle imo...

another thing vinnie could have done

the minute the people around him started telling him his music was too 'busy' or 'over the top', vinnie should have doubled down and made it even more over-the-top. vinnie could have brought in a keyboard player, and an fx rack for each of the band members. then they could have gone totally off with...

that 'gangster's paradise' is a cover, isn't it?

whatever the case of that, this here is a bit different than normal rap; because the vocalist is singing, and the background music is like a modern rock tune. if it's a cover, i'd say it's better than the original.

one thing is; would Vinnie even want a keyboardist? it seems like, back in the day he was strongly in the 'keyboardless' camp.

i've got to take back the thing about skrillex being a musician. he's probably more like a 'composer' or 'step-sequence-guy'. maybe he enters the various parts in real-time, but i doubt it. it is a skill for a dj to be able to string a bunch of pieces together, but agreed that it's not exactly being...

i would agree that djs aren't musicians. they generally have a good sense of timing, and can readily go from one pre-recorded track to the next, and then throw in their banter, and maybe their little 'sound effects' riffs; but real musicians?... nope. now, of the artists that make the tracks that th...

What if Vinnie contacted say, Depeche Mode or New Order and asked to tour with one of these kinds of bands? I think it would be way cool if one of these types of 'electronic/disco/techno' bands had a bit of Vinnie mixed in. It seems like any number of these older, 'dance bands' could use a musical s...
